WOW

Last night I went to a Christina Aguilera concert because my wonderful husband got me tickets. I can't even begin to tell you how great the concert was. She is a fantastic entertainer. She also has one of the greatest voices of my generation of pop performers. She puts Britney, Jessica and Mandy Moore to shame. I am not sure how great she would be at performing opera, but she is great at what she does so why change it. I was so shocked when Russell came home with tickets for me. I couldn't believe it, it was a total surprise. I don't approve of her morals or her lifestyle, but she has a great voice.

She had two opening acts and they were Danity Kane and The Pussy Cat Dolls. I had never heard of Danity Kane, but apparently they are the second girl group to come out of the show Making the Band. They were ok, but the Pussy Cat Dolls were great. They could have worn a few more pieces of clothing, but they were entertaining. My daddy would have never let me leave the house in what they were wearing.

It was a great night. I took my friend Heather and we had a great time. Girl time is great. Russell wouldn't go with me. I think he thought that would make him less manly. I mean honestly though he is pretty manly I don't think he needs to worry about that.

Well, thats all for today I just wanted to let you know about my super fun night and that I love my husband.

Sing Song Weekend

This weekend I went to Abilene all by myself and had a great time! I left here on Friday and got to Abilene and hung out with my favorite family the Riggs. Mark and Debbie were my home away from home. Debbie cooked for me and mothered me when my own mother was 5 hours away. I enjoyed getting to catch up with them, they are so special to me. I stayed with their daughter Katie that night and really enjoyed getting to catch up with her. When I was still in school Katie graduated from Lipscomb, came home and lived with her mom and dad and we became instant friends. We used to go on walks around the neighborhood and talk about life. Discuss everything that was confusing in our simple lives.

I was able to spend some quality time with myself this weekend while my friends were doing Sing Song stuff. I went and saw a movie, did some shopping, and treated myself to a manicure. I had a good mixture of spending time with just me and spending time with good friends.

The show on Saturday was so great. My good friend Randy was a Hostess this year and she was fabulous. She has the greatest stage prescence and really captures your attention with her beautiful smile. Randy is the second from left with blue shirt on.

On Saturday night I stayed with my friend Briana. We have been friends for as long and I can remember. It is always a joy to get to catch up with dear friends. This is Briana with her mom, sister and niece.

It was a wonderful weekend and I really enjoyed myself. I have such great memories of Sing Song and getting to go back and experience it as an alumni is just neat. Siggies are carrying on a great tradition and have won for 6 years in a row. This year they were French Fries and it was super cute. Way to go girls!!!

As much as I enjoyed getting away I am beginning to realize that going places without your significant other makes you look forward to coming home instead of thinking how much you will miss your friends, because I know I am going to home to my best friend.

Trip to the OKC and New Car Pictures

Hello Friends and Family...Well I have decided to try blogging again! With this first blog I have also decided to add some pictures of a concert that Russell and I went to as well as some pictures of my new car. The pictures are not in the order that I wanted them, but you live and learn. I do intend to get better at this blogging thing and with that I will learn how to do the pictures in the right order. If any of you have any advice for me that was would be great.

So Russell and I went to OKC to see some friends and go to a Bela Fleck and the Flecktones concert. Russell bought that tickets back in like November and had been looking forward to this weekend for a long time. We thoroughly enjoyed our concert and time with good friends. So here we go with pictures.

This is a picture of Russell and I with the bands strangest member, Futureman. He plays a special instrument I will show you a pic of in a min.

These next two are pictures of my new car! I love my new car a lot! Bye Bye Saturn.

Back to concert pics. Here is Futureman with his Drumatar. It's like a guitar but it plays all sorts of percussion sounds by just pushing certain buttons. He made it and it is quite strange.

Jeff Coffin playing two saxaphones at once. This was pretty cool. He played 9 different instruments throughout the concert.
This is Bela and Victor Whooten. Bela plays the banjo and Victor plays the best bass I have ever heard.
Futureman again...
Bela and Jeff...notice Jeff is playing the clarinet.
This is the band.

Those are all the pictures that turned out well enough to show ya. We had a great time though. We stayed the weekend with Caleb and Addi Panter some of our newly married friends. Caleb and Russell have known each other since birth and since he married a girl that neither one of us new we thought we needed a weekend to get to know her. She is a great girl and I know we are going to be great friends. We also saw Evan and Rachel Burkett. Evan was in the wedding and their daughter Canaan was our flowergirl. They are great friends to us. Anyways we had a blast and enjoyed our break a lot!

I am excited to start blogging again! I promise to be so much better this go around.
