Precious Babies

For those of you who haven't heard here's the news recently. I am almost positive that everyone that reads my blogs reads the other blogs this is posted on but you can never have to many reminders to pray. Jaymie (Spencer) and Kory Philips had twins on March 26th. Jaymie was only 25 weeks along when they were born. To get the full story check out their blog.

Russell and I did make it back safely from Mexico. We had a blast! Kyle to answer your question we went to Aquiles with a group from the Edmond C of C in Oklahoma. I am trying to publish a web album as I am typing this. It is taking forever though. The connection is kind of slow right now. I will let you know what the website link is tomorrow.

Ta Ta for Now!

Well, on Saturday I officially for the last time said goodbye to the Saturn. It was a good little car and took me through many miles. So many miles that the odometer broke and I couldn't tell you how many miles are rally on that car now! Russell and I decided to donate the car to Dallas CAN! Academy. They will take my car fix whatever is wrong with it and give it to someone who needs a car. So the Saturn will continue on in the world. Not sure if the person that gets this car is lucky or not. Hopefully they will learn to work with all of it's special little quarks. Anyways, because I am a big nerd I took a couple pictures of it getting towed away. The nice people who came and took it said that I was not the first to do that. That made it a little less nerdy I guess.

This will be my last post for the next two weeks since this week will be filled with school, cleaning, and packing for Mexico. I get more excited everyday. I can't wait to go. This has been something I have wanted to do since high school, but a little place called Camp Deer Run always interfered with the church mission trip. I can't complain though I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere but there.

So, this is me saying goodbye to a dear friend (The Saturn) and also saying goodbye to blogland for about 2 weeks. I will try to get pictures up from Mexico as soon as I can, but I make no promises as to when "soon" will be.

Bye Bye Saturn

Well, as of Saturday I will no longer be the owner of a Saturn. It will officially be out of my hands and into someone elses. That little car was a good little car right up until the very end, except for that time the radiator cracked, which is basically why we got me a new car. The Saturn has been parked in my apt. parking lot since the end of November, taking up a prime parking spot. Oh well.

I am almost done with week two at the Elem. school teaching music. So far it has been a positive experience. I have enjoyed both the faculty and students. Next week I will only be there for 4 days because Russell and I will be leaving for Mexico. We are going on a mission trip with the Edmond Church of Christ. Russell has been like 4 times on this trip while in college and this will be my first time. I ask for prayers for the trip. I am really excited about going though. Maybe just a little bit nervous.

It's Thursday night and it is almost the weekend. This "real" teaching thing in tiring. Much more tiring than subbing. I am ready for my weekend. YAY!!!!

Decorating, Jobs and Old Friends

After 6 months of being in our apartment I finally cleaned off my dresser in my bedroom. It was a very liberating experience. It was always a great place just to lay things. So I have cleaned it off and actually put some pictures frames (that were still packed in a box) to make our bedroom more homey. I also finally found something to go on the walls in my bedroom. The room is very rectangular and so I had a really empty wall that I had no idea what to put on it. I finally just found something and decided to make it work. I was really pleased with the outcome.

Now, some of you may be saying why did it take me 6 months to do all of this? Well, I have gotten way more accomplished in this apartment than I ever thought about getting done in our first apartment. Also, the first 6 months were spent on the living room and kitchen. Russell said why do you even need to decorate our bedroom it's not like anyone ever goes in there. Men just don't understand.

I just wanted to update you all on my job. Most of you know I have been subbing. On Monday I began a long term sub job at an elementary school teaching music. I don't think this could have fallen into my lap at a more perfect time. So far it has been great. The teacher had to take an unexpected leave to have some surgery. The surgery went fine and so now it's all about the recovery time. She has a 19th month old daughter, so just pray for their family during the recovery time. I think having a 19th month old while recovering from major surgery could be kind of tough. I am really excited about this opportunity though. Hopefully it will help in my quest for a full time job next year.

I just read a comment tonight from a friend I haven't talked too in forever. Some of you know her, it's Kyla (Diles) Gentry. She was letting me know she is pregnant and due in September. I just thought I would share that with those of you who know her. I know it is an exciting time for her. I am sure I have some old pictures of us at camp but I am not sure who would be more embarrassed...me or Kyla. Kyla and I have been friends since our days at good ol' CDR. We are the kind of friends that don't have to talk to each other often, but can always pick up where we left off. I am so excited for you Kyla!

Well, I am going to enjoy my quiet evening at home alone. Russell is in Austin at the State Basketball Tournament hanging out with his dad. Have a great end of your week. Many Blessing to all of you!
